Hi, I was having this issue of iPlayer refusing to load on my 2016 UE48JU6400 - it was just hanging on the 'iPlayer loading' screen. Tried all the usual things - unplug and cycle TV on/off, check latest firmware, delete and reinstate individual apps, reset smarthub, reset entire TV, etc.
That's the problem with these devices you're lucky if there is a firmware update available. The beeb changes its protocols and the device no longer works. I have a Freesat box that stopped working at some point with iPlayer. My PS3 still works but it's had a number of updates over the years but its software based rather than hardware. The BBC will not tell my exactly why this has happened (the coding of the iPlayer content has not changed). Samsung customer service does not care. I've taken this issue to the highest level with the BBC including a slot on the Radio 4 You and Yours consumer programme. None of the answers given are satisfactory. Then reinstall the Iplayer app, it does work with both sd and hd versions of the fire.
